Born in Marite, Sifiso Mokoena created Hazyview Come Alive to give young people in Hazyview and communities a platform to showcase their talents in music, comedy and dance.

Mokoena says he witnessed many talents go to waste because there were limited opportunities to perform and grow. The initiative provides a drug-free environment where young people can develop talents, build businesses and inspire one another.

The inaugural Hazyview Come Alive Talent Show will take place on 5 September 2026 at Hazyview Country Cottages from 12:00 until late the following day. More than 2,000 people are expected to attend.

The event seeks to connect youth, businesses and tourism while encouraging investment in young talent.

“Our future is talent, not drugs,” says Mokoena.
