The construction of Langa Secondary School in Boschfontein, within the Nkomazi Local Municipality, is nearing completion as part of ongoing education infrastructure development led by the Mpumalanga Department of Education. The project is now in its final stages, with finishing works underway ahead of a planned practical handover to the Department of Education.

Once completed, the school is expected to improve access to education for learners in Boschfontein and surrounding communities, helping to ease pressure on existing schooling facilities. The development forms part of the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport broader infrastructure programme aimed at strengthening the province’s education system through the provision of additional and improved learning facilities.

Stakeholders involved in the project report that construction has progressed steadily, with no major delays or significant disruptions recorded since its commencement. Coordinated implementation between project teams has been cited as a key factor in maintaining consistent progress throughout the construction process.Community involvement in the area has also contributed to a stable working environment, allowing construction activities to proceed as planned.

Once completed and formally handed over, Langa Secondary School will add to the province’s expanding education infrastructure network, supporting improved teaching and learning conditions and increasing access to quality education in the region.
