The Mpumalanga Department of Education has started distributing tablets to Grade 10 learners in Quintile 1 to 3 schools across the province.
The devices come preloaded with e-books, learning applications, study materials, and past exam papers to support teaching and learning. The rollout began in the Umjindi Circuit on 26 May and is expected to reach all circuits by the end of July 2026.
The Department says the initiative aims to bridge the digital divide, improve access to quality education, and equip learners with the skills needed to succeed in a technology-driven world.
Learners have been urged to protect the tablets and use them responsibly for educational purposes.
