MEGA Kicks Off 2025 Youth Business Breakfast Series with
Hope and Purpose

Mpumalanga, South Africa – Under the bold theme Hope,
Rebuild, Grow, Protect, the Mpumalanga Economic Growth
Agency (MEGA) officially launched its highly anticipated
Annual Provincial Youth Business Breakfast Engagements
for 2025 on the 12 th of June 2025 at the Kamhlushwa
Community Hall in the Nkomazi local Municipality.

This vibrant kick-off marked the start of a series of
powerful engagements aimed at empowering young
entrepreneurs across the province. With an unwavering
focus on skilling youth to become industry-ready and
business-savvy, MEGA continues to prove its commitment
to sustainable economic development in Mpumalanga.

“We are here to ensure that young entrepreneurs are
equipped not with ideas only, but with strategies that
work,” said Mega senior manager funding, DR Carol
Nkambule during the opening session at Kamhlushwa. “Let
go of what doesn’t serve your business. Innovate. Adapt.
Thrive.” She said.

Department of economic development and Tourism
Director Enterprise Development, Solly Mhaule, also
highlighted that the department’s mission is to drive
economic growth that creates employment opportunities
and sustains economic development in partnership with
stakeholders in the province.

These engagements held in association with entities such
as Old Mutual, Sars, Standard Bank, South African
Forestry Company SOC Limited, Small Enterprise
Development and Finance Agency, Mpumalanga Green
Cluster Agency, Mpumalanga Economic Regulator,
Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency, The Department
of Economic Development and Tourism and the National
Youth Development Agency are more than networking
sessions — they are practical think tanks designed to shift
mindsets and business models. The sessions delve into the
core of entrepreneurship, challenging youth to rethink
rushed interventions and adopt resilient strategies,
especially when cash flow is limited.

The breakfast engagements continued throughout June,
making stops in key municipalities across the province:

  • 19 June 2025 – Thembalethu, Thembisile Hani
    Municipality, Nkangala District

These engagements are open to aspiring and existing
youth entrepreneurs ready to take their businesses to the
    next level.

MEGA, as a development finance institution, is evolving —
aligning its model to be more responsive, more accessible,
and more grounded in the realities of Mpumalanga’s
youth. The shift promises a future where capital is not just
a privilege, but a tool for transformation. These
engagements are where vision meets opportunity — and
where Mpumalanga’s future is being shaped, one idea at a
time.
