The South African National Parks (SANParks) has welcomed the appointment of Mr David Maynier as the new Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment following the national executive changes announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

SANParks also extended its sincere appreciation to the outgoing Minister, Mr Willie Aucamp, for his leadership, guidance, and support during his tenure.The organisation said it looks forward to working with Minister Maynier, who brings extensive senior governance experience to the portfolio.

SANParks believes his leadership will play an important role in advancing its strategy of inclusive conservation and strengthening efforts to build a healthy, sustainable, and climate-resilient system of national parks that benefits all South Africans.

The SANParks Board and management have assured Minister Maynier of their full support as the organisation continues its mission of protecting, managing, and promoting South Africa’s rich natural and cultural heritage for present and future generations.
