Mandela Warriors FC rallies back to win the game 6-5

Mandela Warriors FC, a Shatale Township based soccer team locked horns against Mphenyatsatsi Young Stars on Sunday, the 02nd November 2025, at Mphenyatsatsi Sportsfield. Both teams did not have a full compliment of players , they fielded fringe players.
Mandela Warriors FC took the lead after 10 minutes of play. However, the hosts restored parity in the 26 minutes of the game. The game went to the intervals 1 all. Mphenyatsatsi Young Stars came back in high spirits and extended their lead through a set play which the warriors young keeper could only watch as the ball hit the net.
When the visitors were trying to hatch a plan to reduce the deficit, the home team scored their third goal of the game. In the 65 minutes, the hosts scored their fourth goal to make the scoreline 4 – 1.
When everyone thought the visitors would throw the towel, the ever reliable goal poacher of the visitors who scored 45 goals pulled one back. It was him again who scored the third and fourth goals to level matters.
The visitors were buoyed by their coach instruction and the fact that they were given a red carpet reception. The game ended 4 all in 90 minutes and it went to extra time. Mandela Warriors FC took the lead in the first half of extra time. The home team responded well by restoring parity. However, the visitors scored their second goal in the extra time and protected their lead to win the game 6 – 5. It must be noted that the standard of officiating was poor and both sides benefited from the referee’s errors. The game was played despite showering rains.
