PREPARATORY EXAMINATIONS PROGRESSING SMOOTHLY

The Department is greatly encouraged by the smooth commencement of the 2025 Grade 12 Preparatory Examinations. On 1 September 2025, Grade 12 learners across the Province successfully wrote the National Life Orientation paper. So far, the Department is pleased that no significant challenges were reported, confirming that it is indeed all systems go.The preparatory examinations are of great significance, as they provide learners with the opportunity to experience writing the full examination papers under conditions similar to those of the final examinations. These examinations are scheduled to conclude on 30 September 2025.The Department remains confident that, through the collective efforts of teachers , learners, and stakeholders, the examinations will continue to run seamlessly until the final day. To this end, the Department makes a clarion call to parents, guardians, and communities to support the Class of 2025 by ensuring a conducive environment for learning and by avoiding anything that may disrupt schooling across the Province.The MEC for Education, Ms Lindi Masina has encouraged learners to seize this opportunity and approach the preparatory examinations with the utmost focus , as they serve as vital preparation for the upcoming National Senior Certificate Examinations at the end of the year. The MEC further emphasised the importance of responsibility, punctuality, and consistent attendance at designated examination centres.School communities and parents are especially urged to create nurturing learning environments that foster academic growth and empower learners to reach their fullest potential.Learners facing challenges in their studies are advised to seek timely support from teachers and peers who can provide guidance in the relevant subjects.The Department intends to improve the grade 12 Examination Results to 90% pass rate this time around.A Department at work for all!
