Mphenyatsatsi top 3 tournament produces sparks

Mphenyatsatsi Young Stars hosted a top 3 Tournament at their home ground, over the weekend. The tournament consisted of Mphenyatsatsi Young Stars, the hosts, Volgeboom FC and Vinas FC from the nearby forestry plantation company. The first game saw the hosts playing against Vinas FC and it was the hosts who drew first blood in the first half.

The home team increased their lead in the strike of half time and the game went to break 2 nil in favour of the home team. The visitors came back after the break rejuvenated and it did not take them long to pull one back. The home team scored their third goal in the second half, however the visitors did not give up, they too scored the second goal barely after the home team scored. The visitors leveled matters and just when everyone thought the game was headed to the penalties, the hosts scored the winning goal before the final whistle. Since this was a top 3 tournament, the loosers Vinas FC had to play against the standby team, Volgeboom who are their cross town rivals. Volgeboom FC took the initiative in the first half.

They doubled their lead in the second half and held on to win the game to book a place in the final against Mphenyatsatsi Young Stars. Despite the chilly cold weather, supporters came to cheer up their teams. Due to the rain, the final was not played and the teams had to share the money.
