LEARNERS ARE URGED RETURN TABLETS AND TEXTBOOKS

THE MPUMALANGA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION URGES LEARNERS TO RETURN TABLETS AND TEXTBOOKS

As learners will be finishing their exams and school attendance for the 2025 school year, the department kindly requests them to return their textbooks and any learning resources issued out to them during the school term back to their respective schools.

Schools are also requested to intensify their textbooks and tablets retrieval process to ensure that prospective learners have access to these much needed resources when schools reopen for the 2026 school year.

The department also urges all learners to return any school property in their possession.

Parents and school communities are also requested to assist in this effort by ensuring that learners comply with this directive in an effort to enable 2026 and beyond learners to access these resources meant to assist in their learning process.

The MEC for Education, Ms Lindi Masina emphasised the importance of returning all learning support material handed over by schools to learners from the beginning of the year. She stated that these resources were provided to facilitate a smoother and more enjoyable learning journey.

Therefore, learners should not deprive future generations of the same educational opportunities provided to them.

As learners prepare to embark on their December holidays, the MEC also wishes them all the best. She advises them to prioritise their mental and physical well-being and to avoid engaging in activities that could endanger their lives and jeopardise their promising future.

MEC Masina also expressed her gratitude to all learners including grade 12 candidates for their positive attitude throughout the examination period.

“Let me extend my appreciation to the examinations staff, curriculum specialists, educators, circuit managers, school principals as well as parents and guardians for their unwavering support to the learners from the beginning of the year until the very end. My heart goes out to all education stakeholders such as teacher unions, learner formations, NGOs, business leaders, civil society organisations, religious and traditional leaders who have walked with us through out the year, ensuring quality education delivery in our beloved province,”concluded MEC Masina
