Mandela Warriors wins top 3 tournament

Mandela Warriors FC, a Shatale Township based football team hosted a top 3 soccer tournament at Shatale stadium. This tournament was hosted on Saturday, the 12th of July 2025. The tournament was constituted by Mandela Warriors FC, Dwarsloop Academy and Motibidi Masakeng FC.

 The first game saw the hosts Mandela Warriors locking horns with Motibidi Masakeng FC and Mandela Warriors won the game 3 – 2. Since it was a top 3, the loosers had to play against Dwarsloop Academy to book a place in the final. It was Motibidi Masakeng who drew the first blood in the first stanza through the boot of Ethan Mashego. Ethan went on to score his brace in the second stanza and before the game ended he scored his third goal to complete a hattric. The game ended 3 nil in favour of Motibidi Masakeng FC.

 The final saw Mandela Warriors playing against their cross rivals, Motibidi Masakeng FC who hails from the dusty streets of Thabakgolo. Mandela Warriors took the lead 5 minutes after kickoff and this allowed them to dictate the terms in terms of play. It came as no surprise when they won the game 5 nil.
